We will be holding a water baptism class on Sunday evening at 7:15pm. If you would like to learn more about water baptism, what it means, and explore the possibility of getting baptised, this class is for you.  If you haven't been baptised - this class is definitely for you! If you are unsure if you should get baptised - this class is also for you. We will be exploring what the Bible teaches about baptism:

  • what is water baptism?
  • who should get baptised?
  • why we should get baptised?
  • how should we be baptised?

Water baptism is more than a ceremony, it is a sign of the covenant God has made with us through Christ.  Water Baptism is a defining moment in the life of a Christian when we publicly confess Jesus as Lord through identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. For those who believe the gopsel - the appropriate next step is to get baptised.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit - Matthew 28:19

Those who accepted his message were baptised - Acts 2:41

When Jesus told his followers to go into all the world and make disciples, he told them to baptise those who believe. In the books of Acts, every time someone believed the gospel, they responded by getting baptised.  Why did Jesus tell his followers to baptise those who believe? Why did people who believe get baptised?

Summary

  • Jesus calls his followers - those who repent and believe the good news, to get water baptised. To learn more about what this means, go here.
  • This class is a pre-requisite for being baptised at Centrepoint Church.
  • If you'd like to learn more or you have any questions, email Tom Jackson.
