Giving

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Giving is one of the ways that Christians worship God.  Because God has been so generous to us in giving his Son to die for our sins, one of our greatest joys as Christians is to give back to him.  We give to God in many ways - our time, our talents, and our treasure.

  • We give to say thank you.
  • We give because God has been so generous to us in Christ.
  • And we give so that the gospel of Jesus can reach more and more people.

God blesses us so that we can be a blessing.  As we practice God-style generosity, he meets the needs of our local church and enables us to be a blessing to the world.

GIFT AID

You can read more about Gift Aid on the UK government's HMRC website. We encourage all UK tax-paying givers to make a gift aid declaration. This enables us to claim back up to 25 pence in tax from the government for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you.

The first time you add Gift Aid to your giving, you will need to setup a Gift Aid ID. This is done by filling in the Gift Aid declaration on the Giving Envelope. From then on you simply quote your Gift Aid ID each time you give and Gift Aid is automatically added to your giving.

Please download and print the Gift Aid declaration form and complete the details. We will need an original copy of this declaration so please bring this with you on a Sunday and place in the offering container. Alternatively you can post the Gift Aid declaration form to the following address:  PO Box 15680  Bathgate, Scotland, EH48 9BH

If you give by standing order, please use your Gift Aid ID as the transaction reference, so we can claim gift aid on these amounts. For other electronic forms of giving please make sure you complete the questions regarding gift aid.

Also, if you are in a higher income-tax bracket, then you can claim back the tax on your giving which is above the basic rate. You can contact HMRC for guidance on how you can make this claim.
